Holy moly. I can’t believe we are coming up on the holidays! What a blessing YANA has been to me and my soul. I have met some amazing people and have felt the positive energy flow. I know that we all need someone in our lives who makes you feel as though you are good enough. That one person who “gets” how hard motherhood is and how no matter what, will be there for you. I have seen this happening with our moms and our support moms and it has been amazing. I truly am grateful for each of you for being a part of YANAM2M and for believing in the mission!
When we started this little adventure, we weren’t sure where it would take us but now we are gaining momentum and on our way. We are supporting moms, making connections and creating a community where moms are valued and appreciated. It has been a fantastic ride so far! After the Highlands Ranch Herald did their story, I was blown away by the positive responses we got from people in the community. So many kind words. We then did an interview with channel 2 and more positive is rolling in. We are so blessed to have so much positive support behind us. We are waiting for the IRS to transfer the EIN number to us so that we can apply for grants and funding. As soon as we have funding, we will be unstoppable! Wait and see where we go!
What a fun June we have had connecting with moms and changing lives. We have some amazing people who volunteer their time and who give of themselves selflessly. We are blessed to have so many of you in our lives and that you take the time to help moms. Sometimes hearing, “you are not alone” or “I’ve been there” can change your entire way of thinking about a situation. We are looking forward to the 4th of July parade and hope that we get the word out to lots and lots of moms! This adventure is awesome!
We are well on our way to helping lots of moms and connecting people through YANAM2M. I have learned SO much in the past few months and one thing that I will never forget is all of the positive that is coming from this little adventure. Being a mom can be the hardest thing EVER and sometimes it’s amazing but no matter what kind of day you are having, if you feel loved and supported and ENOUGH, then everything seems to be right in the world. I have been surrounded by love and encouragement from day 1 and I thrive on knowing we are making a difference. Together, we can make a difference and we can connect, encourage and build each other up.
The concept of YANAM2M all started on January 31, 2017 and now, almost exactly 3 months later, we are having our first event! It is time to start helping moms and getting Highlands Ranch healthy! I am so excited to get this started and get moms paired with support moms to make sure every single mom knows that she is NOT ALONE and she is ENOUGH!
There are SO many people to thank and I won’t bore you with a list but I HAVE to thank my family! Without the love and support of my husband, none of this would be happening. Thank you honey for always believing in me, holding my hand and helping me through this whole crazy ride! I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you!
Today will be our first event where I hope to meet some moms and get people in the door and paired with other moms. I hope to see smiles on faces and hearts happy with the knowledge that YOU ARE ENOUGH. Being involved with YANAM2M has truly given me a new perspective on many things and today is the first day of many!
WOW! What a whirlwind that has been! It all started with 2 tragedies that rocked me to my core. After the first tragedy, I was shook up and sad. I just couldn’t imagine how lost a mom must have been to do what she did. The second happened and I decided that Highlands Ranch has a problem and it is time we did something about it. Moms need help. Moms need support. Moms need to know that THEY ARE ENOUGH!
Feeling that you are enough is not easy. There is always someone who is doing more than you or who is in better shape than you or who makes a better meal than you. As a mom we compare ourselves to each other LIKE CRAZY and for what? Does this help us be better people? Does this help us be better moms? The answer to this is NO. It makes us crazy. It drives us to do things we wouldn’t normally do. We need to stop “keeping up with the Jones'” and realize that WE ARE ENOUGH!
This group is for every single mom to know that they DO belong and they DO have a place where they are enough. Everyone is welcome. If you got out of bed this morning and fed your kids, you did enough! If you have 5 loads of laundry still to fold, it’s OK because you washed and dried them so you did 66% of the job! YOU ARE ENOUGH!
I hope this endeavor called YANAM2M will help moms and let everyone see that no life is perfect and no family is perfect. We all have insecurities and faults. We all feel as though we are giving our kids reasons to go to therapy when they grow up…and that’s OK because we are enough!
